WHAT IS DESIGN + BUILD?

Design + Build is a description of how we deliver a project. JHS works with the Clients, under a single contract, to provide *both design and build (construction) services.

One company, one contract, one singular flow of work.

*We are also happy to work independently of Design+Build and build plans from another architect/designer.

STEP 1: Consultation - talk needs, ideals, timeframe and budget

STEP 2: Site research and documentation - dig into the specifics of your site

STEP 3: Design your dream space - translate conversations into construction blueprints

STEP 4: Final Estimate - compile detailed estimate for cost of construction

STEP 5: Build - build your dream space

  • We talk with local cities and towns to make sure that our team is working within local parameters.

  • We translate our piles of notes from phone calls with you into detailed as built drawings and blueprints.

  • We work with the engineers to ensure that each design is fully to code.

  • We pull from our already vetted contact list to secure the best subcontractors for your project.

  • We call each subcontractor and work with them to create a meticulous schedule that works for everyone.

  • We provide Project Management that’s available when you have questions.

  • We order each material from the concrete and framing lumber down to the door handles and drawer pulls.

  • We oversee all deliveries, check for damages, and deal with returns.

  • We ensure a clean job site at the end of each day.

  • We will always communicate openly and constructively through the entire process.
